He imitates the mannerisms of female british singers like Sandie Shaw here, but because he's a man and a baritone, it comes off as sounding completely different both from Sandie Shaw and from the other male singers at the time who didn't adopt these mannerisms. But I don't know shit about music theory or voices so feel free to correct me.
